Moving Diplomacy (and everything I bought from Stardock) to another computer...

This is annoying... I am finally getting around to moving my Impulse library (which consists of SoaSE, Entrenchment, and Diplomacy) over to my new machine and when I reinstalled Impulse it now only has Vanilla SoaSE and Entrenchment but NOT Diplomacy.  I put my old box back together and sure enough, Diplomacy is still there (and wanted to update itself) .... I copied the Serial Key out and tried to re-register it and I get a registration failure error saying either the serial number (which I pulled out onto the clipboard) or e-mail address is invalid (Ref 204) even though I have the serial #, and my e-mail address correct.

 

What do I need to do to get this moved over from my old machine?  I had no issues moving my Steam library over.

I've put Sins on several computers and I've never had this issue.

Sounds to me like it got registered under another email. It is possible to make games registed to another account availible on one machine by adding the serial and the email to its registrations. However this only applies to that machine, and has to be redone for each machine you want to install on.

Are you moving everything onto a computer that has the same OS as the previous one?  Quite a while ago, I ran into an issue where myimpulse files would not transfer from one machine to another.  Turns out that these files couldn't be transferred between WinXP (32-bit) and Vista (64-bit.) The exact quote:

You can transfer archives from one PC to another. You need to archive on the same machine type as you are targeting. For example, you need to archive on Windows XP 32-bit if you are moving to Windows XP 32-bit.

Granted, this was close to three years ago, but it sounds like you may be running into a similar problem.

Stardock Support is usually very helpful. I once had two copies registered under two e-mails. I supplied the codes and explained my situation and they combined them all into one of the accounts. It worked out perfectly.

Usually, they are very helpful.  I'm just now running into an issue where they're not answering a question (about if/when they will have an expansion pack available for a game they sell) but this is only the second time that's I've been ignored in the past five years.

No, I moved from XP Pro 32 to Win7 Ultimate 64 so the archive approach won't work. 

I also tried the registration link and fed it the 3 possible email addresses that I could have possibly registered it under and tried to send them to the one I know I registered Vanilla and Entrenchment under and it blew up each time. 

I'll send a mail off to Stardock and see what they say.
