I downloaded these files called reference files for diplomacy which i guess are needed to start modding and their was 2 links their that said how to get things setup and start modding but the information is very confusing and this is my first time doing anything like this and so i didnt really have a clue on what i was reading.

I was hoping someone can clarify some of the terms for modding like for example "converter" and what it means and what tools will be needed to even start modding perhaps a tutorial for a very small mod you know for something simple like changing hit point and shield or what ever you think might be an easy thing to mod.

Iam interested in creating mods but have absolutely no idea on how to start and your help would be much appreciated.
