@ albert thats a really hard question to answer. At the rate I got the team going right now I could really for see a launch with all 4 races and tech 1 ships by Spring 2013.
The trouble is I dont want to stop there... I want the "rebel" factions in sins to be the corresponding pirate groups from eve...IE Blood Raiders would be the "Amarr Rebels" its the same model but a different texture file and unfortunately the sins engine doesnt work based on models and textures. It is based on a mesh and textures the mesh is a premade model with points for the texture to hook up to it all you need to have is the textures in the right folder and the mesh will work. The problem is you cant use 1 mesh and tell sins to switch textures for a set of rules.
What does this mean? Well short story is that I don't believe that I will be able to do what I want with the engine what I would like to. Sins of New Eden will never become a dynamic RTS based off Sins Rebellion. We will be limited to pretty basic setup similar to the one we have now.
I still think the mod has a boat load of potential and will be good fun but dont expect to have a fleet of A Hac's or Snipa Muninns and have the same results you see with those ships in EvE.
