I gather the sovereign designer was hashed out in beta 1, but I missed that one and want to point out some problems and make some suggestions:
Gameplay:
- Lady Procipinee has "Ruin" for one of her circles of magic. Why is "Ruin" not available through the sovereign designer?
- Nearly every talent costs 10 points and every weakness gives 10 points. How about some minor talents/flaws that cost/give less points and have smaller or more situational impacts. These would help differentiate sovereign builds and give more design flexibility and variety.
- Add some other small benefits for a small cost. Maybe 50-100 extra starting gold for a point or two. A "lucky" attribute. etc.
- Human male sovereigns seem to be offered more choices in terms of armor/equipment than the female and fallen do. Even if the fallen get different choices, the human male and female should have the same ones.
UI:
- Show ALL the character stats (attack/def, moves, combat speed, mana regen, HP, etc). Make the designer window bigger and put this stuff in its own area outisde the tabbed part so you can see it from any tab and immediately see the impact of any coices you make. This would be a great help.
- The stat descriptions for str, dex, etc should give better deatils of their effect (ie: the formulas). This would be less necessary if ALL the stats were shown as requested above.
- The professions should have more detailed descriptions of the benefits. Numbers, please!
- It'd be really nice to be able to edit a sovereign I've already created, and also to helpful look at the point distribution for the pre-created sovereigns and use them as a starting point for my own changes. Perhaps if the designer had a dropdown or something that let you load one of the existing sov's stats in to your current custom design?
- It'd be cool if the "motto" textbox had the "random cycler" like the name text boxes do, so you could cycle through a bunch of different quotes, instead of always getting the same quote every time.
Graphics:
- It's be nice to be able to fully 360 rotate the sovereign in the designer, so see what the back of their head and their clothes looks like, and to be able to rotate them to face you when their animation turns them away.
- The female model's arm clips through the shirt sleeve when she wears the "noble shirt". (For human and fallen).
- The female "high top boots" heavily clip through most of her pants and skirt options. It looks really bad. Most of the male boot options would look OK on the female - why not allow those as well?
- Sovereign eyebrow color don't change when you change the hair color.
- The "wizard beard" graphic is not attached to the side of the face if you pick human heads #3 or #6, or fallen head #4.
