I want to know a few things

Ok i know there are limits in what you can mod in games, i used to mod halo ce. I have zero experience moding sins and i don't know how even; so before i decide if i even want to mod i have questions.

To mod sins do you really use notepad? isn't there a program or something?

Where can i find mod tutorials?

Can you make it so you spawn at a star with units already built? like say you spawn at a star, with a starbase and other units like a fleet.

Can you create a race by using ships from other mods? example like giving tec a ship from the SG_Races mod?

1. yes you can use notepad though I recommend using notepad++ (google it, its free) which offers a lot of tools that makes modding easier

also you will need to convert the BIN to TXT, there are several of these tools around the mod section of the forums (recommend harpo's tools)

2. I know there is a user made tutorial in the mods section of the forums, also the downloads section has some as well

3. not sure, I do know that there was a mod that had colonizable stars, so most likely, that would be in the Galaxy Forge's area (found in downloads section as well)
