i myself have also trained in magic so has my brother i specialize in charms and wards and physical magic while my brother is good at wards spirit magic altho its hard for me to explain without adding religion so...
Then showcase some piece of proof of this so-called magic.
Whiskey, given that situation, there was no time to exploit a flaw as (According to Skidi's current relation of how the events transpired) there was no time to examine the slab, and flaws in metal are meticulously difficult to find on the spot like that. If there were an obvious one, Skidi would have mentioned such(I believe)
We need to clear up our definitions of magic before this continues.
To me, magic is the focussing of Spiritual power. (Your own, most commonly in my case, but sometimes other spirits as well) to increase your own physical or mental prowess. Most often achieved through meditation.)
I very rarely will acknowledge large scale shows of power such as throwing a fireball or some other such act, unless I actually see that. To me, magic is mostly a complete knowledge of one's physical ability, and being able to manipulate your spiritual energy to enhance/compliment that ability.

1. Then the only answer is the simplest one; thus, the shaman has exceptional physical conditioning. Besides, I know a man who has broken on at least one occasion no less than 5 1-2 (probably ~2") inch thick concrete slabs. With his elbow. This man is at present a 6th degree Master of Ho-Am Tae Kwon Do.
2. The specific nature of so-called magic is not the subject of debate; its existance is. Thus, definition has little relevance.
3. There are lots of fancy and simple methods of throwing fireballs. A small device that can launch a pyrophoric material and also ignites it, can give the illusion of throwing fireballs, IF the illusion is pulled of correctly.
heres my list of magic (twilight may remember this)
in the world we belive in three forms of power
spirital-wich draws on your spirit and that of your guardian
phychical-draws upon your own strength
arcane-a source of power traped between worlds the source of all creation
the power can be used in many ways like
spirital
charms- mostly used by shamans and seers charms ward the dark and evil spirits they are also used for simpler tasks such as keeping food supplys safe from vermin
enchantment- by useing the aid of your guardian you are able to enhance objects usualy jewly on jewly it would help protect you when in danger or help your guardian find you in times of need
combat- one is able to use there spirital energy to enhance there fighting asbility by focusing on a punch or blow they are able to drasticly change its power this has been demostrated when the shaman was able to punch through armor
physical
blood magic- one is able to use there blood as offering to call power and evil to the world of the living i do not yet understand it myself because my master avoids the subject
combat-as above but insted of your spirtial energy you push you body to extreme limits usualy only used when in greate danger altho it is limited to the users own physical limits
arcane
not much here i have yet to study this school it is only taught to the seers and shamans but from what i understand the user is able to call the power of the gods for healing of aid
i only listed the one i have studyed
I shall now pick apart this list of so-called magic.
1. There is nothing we can do to keep demons away. Nothing.
2. Keeping food supply safe from vermin is as simple as making sure they don't get into the storage area.
3. Practitioners of many martial arts are able to break several wooden boards or concrete slabs. Is this magic? No. It is the simple application of the formula "Ke=M*V^2", where Ke=kinetic energy (in Joules), M=mass in kilograms, and V=velocity in meters per second. Additionally, a hand-to-hand combat weapon (like a knife/sword/axe/hammer/whatever) adds more mass, that then gives more impact force.
4. This is utter ridiculousness. Additionally, due to your lack of knowledge on the subject it would have been wiser to keep silent on it.
5. Occam's Razor provides the answer of adrenaline and "mind over matter", if you will. Adrenaline can cause the human body to accomplish impressive feats (such as breaking concrete or lifting trees), and "mind over matter" is simple willpower. It's possible to fight solely on willpower. You just need a lot of it.
6. There is only 1 God, and He hates magic/sorcery, since it is essentially the worship of something that is not Him. After all, man was created to serve and worship Him (yes Storm, you said no religion, but skidi did bring it up).
With the proper meditation I have been able to divine the coming of a storm in the past and relieve the pain of myself and others. I'm also highly empathic to those around me(Yeah, you may not think this is magic but I do.)
My belief in magic can be summed up in the magical aspect of Wicca.
Any of you ever heard of Stav? (The form of martial arts/magic practice I mentioned) I didn't get a comment on that one. It's something I'ma look into sometime soon.
-Twilight Storm | My life for the Dahkri
I believe in intuition. More likely IMO you simply (correctly) observed the conditions and predicted that a storm was coming. Empathy isn't magic, it is simply being very observant of those around you and determining emotional state based on body language, tonal inflection, and general demeanor.
Explain this releiving of pain.
You do know that some "wiccan" practitioners declare themselves gods, correct?
No. I have not heard of Stav, nor am I interested in it. All things magical and sorcerous are, to put it nicely, not good, in nature.
Like I said. Its impossible to believe in God and not believe in the spiritual. But I want nothing to do with your magic this and that so I am out here before Whiskey starts burning all the heretics. lol
I do believe in the spiritual. However, I don't believe in magic. And I won't be burning the heretics. I will be sending troops to cleanse them.
You want a definition Storm. Alright. I have no definition except for I'll know it when I see it. However, I can tell you what it can include; this is: Necromancy, Sorcery, certain types of blood rituals and sacrifices.
After all, an Aztec sacrifice isn't magic (it's paganism but that's beside the point). Actually, I do have a definition of magic- the practice of calling upon supposedly otherworldly powers to do the bidding of the summoner.
*SIGH*
So much for mah distracting kittehs. And yes, morph, I'm trying to redeem myself.
*Pulls out trump card*
SO I HAVE GREAT NEWS!
And... bad news.
The great news is that Ethan and Mishayla broke up today, and that our "Date" this weekend will be exumpt of her Girlfriend, Hannah. However, several of our friends are coming along, anyway.
The bad news is that Liz is getting SUPER PISSED at me for giving Mishayla more attention BEFORE we date then I ever gave her while we were dating. As a result, Jess (the one who hooked me up w/ Liz in the first place) is calling me a man-whore, Mishayla a self-centered ignorant slut and blah blah blah... I was afraid this would happen when I found out that Liz had a crush on me last year. The easiest way out of this is to just not be friends anymore, but that's gonna be hard, since Liz is my oldest friend, and Mishayla's best friend.
Hmmm... no such thing as a perfect day.
Xer0 \^/
Ignore them. A small mind is easily filled with anything really. If your crush begins to feel down, then silence those who are causing it.
And now, for my finale- I will DISPROVE the existence of magic using Occam's Razor.
U=N
U=N+M
Where: U=Universe as we know/understand it, N=laws of nature/physics as we understand them, and M=magic. Occam's Razor dictates that the simplest (workable) answer is the truth, thus, there is no magic.
The only way you will get me to believe in magic is if you-
1. Present me with quantifiable and incontrovertible truth. After all, a suspicious mind is a healthy mind; if I can find an alternate answer, then it disproves the existence of magic.
2. Present me with the rules that govern this force. If I didn't believe in gravity, then you'd present me with Newton's Laws and Einstein's Relativity.
In short, magic existing is about as likely as alien life visiting Earth for some reason or another.
Which brings me to solving the Fermi Paradox- the reason we haven't detected any signs of alien life is because there is no SENTIENT alien life. It's not that alien life doesn't exist, it's that none of it is sentient and therefore capable of creating a civilization of any kind, let alone one with any industrial capability.
"A suspicious mind is a healthy one."
