Problems with 1.04

Stardock, what the hell did you do?! Before, the txt files were simple and easy to mod! Now, they just look garbled and half the files from before aren't even there. I hate it when I patch a game, and instantly regret doing so. Does anyone have any information on how to work with the Gameinfo files, and mod the pop cap, planet logistics/tactical details, etc?

There in bin, you need to convert them to txt.

It's been like this for since the earliest updates (probably 1.5 years ago) and it was neccessary to make load times acceptable. We provide you with the tools to convert them to text (the ConvertData's) as well as instructions on how to do it (the modding downloads). Also, Harpo has created tools that make it even easier. Finally, in the past I have provided the text versions of all the files as a seperate download. I may do that again as soon as the hotfix is released.

you can use my modding utilites1.18a to convert a copy of the files to txt to create your mod.

the utilite can be downloaded from reply #93, but the patch might be out soon so I will have to update them again.
