Four empires, fallen and disgraced in the eyes of many, are reaching back for the power they once knew.
THE EMPIRES-
The Pan-Asian Coalition- Tracing its roots back to the ancient nations of China, Russia, the Koreas, Japan, and many Eastern European countries, the PAC has an excellent military, and has the best propoganda of any other empire. Their upgrades for Ice Planets are unrivalled.
The European Union of Systems- Rising from a Western-Europe dominated background, the EUS has an excellent economic capability, but its research in terms of new weapons technology is unrivalled. They also have the best population capacity upgrades on Terran worlds.
The United States of Alpha Centauri- coming from the ashes of NATO, the USAC has the best creditary economy there is. This is also necessary, as some of their best ships also have a rather large price-tag.
The Israeli Republic of Mars- the current iteration of the Israeli state, the IRM has the best military researches and the best population upgrades for Desert and Volcanic worlds. They also have the BEST refinement researches.
THE FEATURES-
A heavily ABILITY-BASED weapon scheme- In order to have the greatest diversity, the ships will use 2 weapon types across the board- Missiles and Autocannons. Other than that, their 'weapons' will be abilities that have a multi-target utility.
Supply System- Many ships regenerate ordnance/energy (AM) slowly, so they require logistic support of supply ships.
Neutral-oriented Maps- Many maps for this mod will feature an abundance of neutrals, mostly from the following- Plasma Storms, Space Junk, Asteroid Belts/Fields; Magnetic Clouds will not be in any custom maps, whil Wormholes will be uncommon at best.
The Value of a Truly-Inhabitable World- Terran and Desert Planets, as well as Ice, will be rather rare. The rarest will be Volcanic planets. As such, most worlds will be Asteroids, or more commonly, Dead Asteroids.
THE SHIPS-
Each empire has access to ships that are similar in purpose; however each faction also has some specialist ships that ONLY that faction has access to; The PAC will have Tu-933 Superbombers, that are spawned from Zhukovskii Supercarriers and Kremlin Starbases, the EUS will have ships armed pervasively with Coilgun weaponry; the USAC- Railgun cruisers/frigates etc. etc.
STEALTH CRUISERS- Introducing a revolutionary ship concept to the Sins engine, Stealth Cruisers are space-born Ballistic Missile Submarines. These advanced ships are unique in that they carry a mine-based cloaking system. They carry two specialized weapons- IPGMs and IPBMs.
IPGM- Intra-Planetary Guided Missiles. These are scripted as mines, but ARE NOT MINES. They are advanced long-range cruise missile weaponry, capable of being fired across a gravity well.
IPBM- Inter-Planetary Ballistic Missiles. These are scripted as FRIGATES. They aren't however. IPBM weaponry is an advanced ordnance system that can be fired at long ranges (like, deploy, send it three planets down, kill tons of stuff, rinse&repeat). They cannot strike a planet, but they can cause serious damage to even the toughest of targets.
NUCLEAR WEAPONS- Nuclear weaponry is used rather pervasively by all these factions. From nuclear-armed IPGM/IPBM missiles to Nuclear Mines, each race has at least one weapon that uses Nukes.
TORPEDO CRUISERS- Stealth Cruisers would be unstoppable without a counter to them, correct? That's where Torpedo Cruisers come in. Armed with anti-ship missiles and powerful Torpedo Weapons (ABILITIES!), Torpedo Cruisers also have Stealth Systems, but they carry detection equipment. Note that BOTH Stealth and Torpedo Cruisers have detection gear, but that Torpedo Cruisers have a higher DPS.
ASSAULT VESSELS- Various classes of Assault-type ships are now used. Unlike in Entrenchment, where an Assault Cruiser is a structure-buster, if your will, these are designed to carry a contingent of Strikecraft and land invasion forces on a planet. Introducing the Amphibious Assault Ship in SPACE.
This mod is far from being done, and at present no models have been completed. However, the Scripting for the PAC has been completed, all that needs to be done is Research additions, and models/textures.
