BSG Map Pack

For use with Entrenchment only for now...

At the website in the link above, go to the Projects section and scroll down to the BSG Map Pack banner... click it.

This BSG Map Pack was created for those BSG fans with their copy of the mod that you can also download here: Sins of the 13th Tribe V0.5 created by Danman Games (creators of 7 Deadly Sins Mod for SoaSE). The star systems are designed from various information surrounding the Battlestar Galactica universe.

All maps were created using GalaxyForge3 and are the preloaded planet types, this does not include any planets 7DS created for use with map editing. Sorry, maybe the next version as my SoaSE crashes when trying to install the BSG mod with the 7DS mod combined, maybe Danman Games are working on this as you are reading this...

There is a text file enclosed with the downloaded .rar file to explain how to install should you have any troubles. Galaxy files also include textures for in-game display. Now mind you, I am running Windows Vista, not Windows 7 so installation may vary.

Special thanks to the creators of the great mod (in progress): Sins of the 13th Tribe that this map pack was created for, from one gamer to many others. Enjoy, and feel free to give your feedback on this first of map packs to come.

File has also been uploaded to ModDB under SoaSE Add-ons and awaits your exploration and exploitation...

Just a little more self-promotion to me... at my website in the Projects section on my ProjectPlaylist applet, is music that I've composed over the last couple years, the first one: Lost Hope, to play is actually composed from sound files of about six different computer games of various genre... if you can make out a particular sound from the correct game and reply to this, I will confirm your accuracy or folly...

I'll go a step farther to emphasize your great role in creating this mod for all us BSG fan... folks, we have the direct download link in case others are having trouble late at night forgetting things like me, plus the link to their Mod forum posting... once again, thank you to the creators of Sins of the 13th Tribe

Thanks. And btw, the new version, v0.8, is out, although it's not up on Danman Games yet. The DL is in the forum post.

You mean I get to uninstall the v0.5 and install the new v0.8 and start from scratch in the Twelve Colonies and fortify every inch down to the 4 Starbases guarding the phaselane to the Scorpian shipyards? All right! I don't care, I'm addicted to this game like it was crack...

Yeah pretty much. But don't worry, you maps still work One thing about the maps, though. It seems like all the planets are really far from each other. It doesn't matter too much, but it would be nice if they were a little closer together.

Actually... it's only the star system with the Twelve Colonies of Man that are spaced out father than your usual map... Ultimately, if you choose to be Player 2 or Player 3 (Which should be Cylon, still working on defaults and templates) you will start in the Kobol and "Original Earth" star systems... so "New Earth" is completely uninhabited... and there's lots of room, plently of mining operations to spread your empire out... and then there are all those "Uncharted Star" systems which I would say you could make the assumption that this is were the colonies have been mining their resources off-planet.

If you want to reference an episode from the SciFi BSG, the Battle of the Ressurection Ship where Galactica stays to guard their mining operations while Pegasus and the civilian fleet move away from the Cylons to a remote location under guard...

Anyone that hasn't seen the Battlestar Wiki page should really check it out...

One thing about the maps, though. It seems like all the planets are really far from each other

i did notice that. also noticed that phase jumping between said planets is incredibly slow for me (as player one) while AI players are a fair bit faster (not alot, but enough to make a difference.

just so as you know

BSG?  (Edit--Battlestar Galactica).  Sins of the 13th Tribe Mod?  I could swear, this game has a number of single player communities that are almost completely foreign to those of us who play PvP online multiplayer.  It's good to see.  Just wish all these folks would try it on ICO, even for just comp stomps.
