Personally I think Stardock needs to reinvent Impulse with speed and stability being more important than features. It has hung on me a few times, sometimes doesn't repaint the screen, and seems sluggish. Maybe create an "Impulse Light" with no store, community browser, internet relay chat, and friends.
Focus on managing the software the person already owns, providing easy updates and launches. I'm sick of all the other upselling crap. I only use impulse because I'm forced to by the games I love.
