I think we can do away with TEC Town, the Advent room, the Vasari room, and the Pirate room. In all my time playing Sins I have never seen anyone in them. The only function they serve right now is to clutter up my list of chat channels. I do wonder what exactly Ironclad had in mind with them. It's almost as though they were hoping for something on a grander scale where people would identify with one of the races and then form teams with members of the same race, playing games against the other two races, almost like having clans for each race.
