Need assistance in joining the online community (ICO login problems)

I have been polishing up my skills on sins lately, having just completed a 50 planet match on normal difficulty, and I was wondering what the ICO login means by "CD Key" when they ask for it in the "Create Account" window.  I'm not new to the idea of a CD Key, having played plenty of other online games before, but i'm not sure which one is the CD Key in this package.  The only two numbers I am given is a "Serial Number" with a code of a 9 numbers, and a longer code, named PC SINS SOLAR CODE STKR, in the format of XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Is there some other code that was supposed to be in the box but isn't? I've googled some possible solutions and I have gotten some links to players who just didnt receive the code in their box and i'm hoping that i'm not one of them.

Try the XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX etc... number

Once you have an account, you need to add a "player" to the account (you can create multiple as long as that name has not already been taken). Then select the player you wish to use and join the lobby.

BTW - most people are on Entrenchment these days. Even if you are on vanilla, make sure you are patched to the latest version or you won't be able to connect (1.16 is current atm)

If you have a boxed copy as it seems you do, the STKR code is the one you need... to get the latest patches make sure you have impulse installed, impulse is also currently the only way to get Entrenchment. If you lost your code go here: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/334035 it might help you out. I hope you can get things working!
