This whole name & shame is ridiculous. Its a game, treat it as such. There is more PvP hostility on Sins than i have observed on any other online game. Seriously... what is the point of this name & shame? It helps nobody when you can just make another account name whenever you feel like it. This harsh post is just about you getting revenge on a player that you don't like. Nice. Very nice.

I would have taken this seriously until i saw "I friended you bro".  Now it just sounds like a lover's spat when one realizes that the other person isn't what he thought he was and now out of bitter feeling of betrayal speaks ill of his former lover because deep inside he wants to be together with him again. (also for future reference it's befriended.  It's a bit odd i know  but friended isn't a real word)

Now on a serious note, Venge it right, there is no point to doing this other than making yourself feel better both cathartically and by having other members take your side (thus increasing the validation of your hurt feelings).  One of the downsides is that it makes you look more like a geek since you have taken such an in-game event so personally, (when irrelevant leisure activities effect your mood negatively, it's time to take a break).  Not trying to be inflammatory but this post is pretty silly.

Yup, it was "Elrosh" all right.  Just watched the replay.  And here he is, posting.  Why didn't you warn us about him earlier, Astax?

Not that I care to pollute the forums with elementary school BS, or dignify this a-hole with a response, but just to set the record straight, I didn't "keep building carriers long after my opponent built the counter."  What happened was, the carriers were the only things that kept surviving after everything else got killed.  Secondly, I teched to returning armada (woo-hoo!), and it kept spawning carriers for me, and the odd assailant or skirmisher which would of course die.  So that's how I ended up with a mass of carriers and little else (did eventually accumulate a small herd of enforcers, however).

As for old "Elrosh," in watching the replay he actually played okay (I hate to admit it).  He had his guy, who was on my northern flank, on the ropes early, and tied him up so that I could deal with south.  But the fact is, the dude clawed his way back, driving Elrosh back off his turf, and then hitting me in my undefended northern flank which "Elrosh" was supposed to be protecting, ensuring that I had to fight a two front war (the only guy in the game who did).  Thus, instead of driving south back, which I was slowly doing (took two of his worlds), I was suddenly losing planets having to fight a two front war.

Elrosh played okay, but he isn't a team player, and as you can see, he is quick to start blaming everyone else for his losses but himself.  He blames JohnJames, and he blames me.

It can't always be about the lulz....

Is Sins an exception to the rule that name calling and blackmailing other players on forums and ingame is forbidden?

Even if this other player was a total jerk, you cannot do such things! Tell your friends, but make no fuss in a lobby or the forums.

If Elrosh is guilty of anything its not giving up. I played a 4v4 with him yesterday - he went 2v1 most of the game and helped bankroll my recovery after being outplayed in the first 2 hours of the game. He's not the most communicative player for sure but he has a good understanding of what constitutes a winnable game. He won't toss in the towel just because the other side is up slightly or progress is slow.

I haven't played with Elrosh much nor can I speak of the matter quoted but I thought some one ought to toss in a good word where it was needed. In general sins is a long game, entrenchment makes it even longer and it seems to me that some of us need to adjust our aproximations of what constitutes a winnable game to fit that time scale.

As far as the problem of players stalling defeat is concerned, there's really nothing to be done about it. Unless Ironclad sees fit to alter the winning conditions for MP, simply evading opponents is a viable strategy. In real life its called an insurgency - and its the staple of gorrilla warfare. When you can't take your opponent head on you hit them hard and fast at their weak points and get out. If you can't stomp out the risistance quickly by breaking your fleets up or locking down territory with culture then perhaps the insurgent deserves to win for out manuvering a foe that ought to be able to crush them.

I've played with siatus twice, both times he left really early because things weren't gonig his way even the the game was far from being called.
