Impulse should be used to install and update your software, you don't need to use it to run the games.
We have responded to your support ticket, but you might also want to check what 'extra' security apps you may have running.
Impulse not working can be caused by extra 'security' apps, like SpyBot, AdAware and the like. Even some anti-virus applications can have their own 'spybot' functions, and Firewall settings.
Check your system (SysTray) for any of these 'watcher' type programs and try to turn them off, then launch
Impulse, and see if you are able to access.

Save the Batch file, run it, and copy & paste the text from the log file it generates on the desktop in a reply to your support ticket e-mail.
