advent cap abilities

im finding that alot of the advent caps abilities arent what they should be

starting with the whats-it-called ships induced hysteria ability

it seems great but base planet bombarding deals moar damage than it does under most cicumstances

secondly is the radiance battlecruisers cleansing brilliance

it would also be great if it assigned "Damage to all targets in a line"

but it only really ever hits one or 2 targets mostly just the original target

 

im hoping these thing get fixed soon

Hysteria deals a percentage of hp as damage. So, it will do a lot of damage very quickly to a planet that's upgraded to 6k health, but less to a planet with 1.5k.

Cleansing Brilliance does indeed hit all targets in a line between it and the target. It stops at the target, and hits everything in its path.

but doesnt the base planet bombardment of that cap 50 or so anyways so hysteria which does 1% would max at 60-65 thats not much better

and thats only assuming that the caps planet bombardment damage doesnt increas with levels

also cleasing brilliance may hit eveything in a line but since ships are on a 3d plane most times targets end up above/below the beam and arnt effected

he has a point on the cleansing brilliance, ive often used it on the rear ship of a densily packed fleet and it seems to find all the gaps between the ships .  Ships rarely sit in a nice line to be shot at

Having a Progenitor to propogate that damage will help, since damage suffered by any of the affected ships will be redistributed amongst them.

One ship taking the full 2k damage will result in that ship plus up to 23 others taking 600 more damage after Malice expires.

For Provoke Hysteria, its 1% damage per second, which is far faster than what any capital can bombard on 6k HP planets outside of abilities (unlike other weapon damage figures, planet bombing damage is NOT damage over time).

so the tooltips dont display average damage per second... then what do they display

ah so thats what malice actually does

Only "Planet Bombing Damage" for capitals and seige frigates are not damage over time figures -- off the top of my head, everything else is except for abilities.
