A new Verison of the DOME is out!!
Compared to the Previous versions of THE DOME:
Insugency Strength has been boosted
RA has a longer Recharge time
All Anti-Strikecraft frigates have had a boost.
The DOME sheild has been weakend.
For those of you that don't know.
THE DOME is an awsome mod that increases online gaming speed to around thiry minutes.
BUT! it doesn't do it through increasing the game speed constants!

THE DOME
WELCOMES YOU!
Congratulations Emperor/Subjugator/Lord on your acceptance to the DOME. Be aware though that your acceptance means nothing until you prove yourself worthy of joining our official ranks and will depend on your vanquishing the countless goes who will rise to your presence and challenge you to the death. A quick and painless one (in some cases) but a huge defeat for the galactic empire you represent nevertheless.
So without further delay, here are the few basic steps you will need to undertake in order to get your DOME License.
-Firstly, you will be required to download the latest DOME mod from the Change Log/Download Link section of our forums.
It is a zipped file which you will need to download, unzip and place into your Sins Mod Folder.
As simple as that because, though we promise you an embarrassing defeat, we are not linked to any administrative or jurisdictive law and thus can cut the administrative bullcrap and dive right into the action.
For those of you who wouldnt know where their mod path is, pick up an intergalactic DOME signed pen at one of our stores, load Sins and under option/mods, click "Show Mod Path". Write down the link and research it in your Windows search engine.
THAT is where the DOME must be set.
Furthermore, the DOME is currently limited to ONLY the latest version of SINS (not Entrenchment) and thus will cause automtic fail to whoever would be foolish enough to try it out in there.
What to expect?
On all DOME maps, you will start on a dead Asteroid. No planets or homeworlds to gather income income or stage an all-out defense...just a bare rock of a Dead Asteroid and 30K credits and 10K metal/crystal to build a fleet strong enough to defend it. This Asteroid is your heart, your soft spot.
You will also start with eight of both types of research stations, a frigate factory, and a capitol ship factory. Furthermore, you will also be given two other structures that are unique to THE DOME.
The first, most important, is the timer. It is a phase jump inhibitor, that slowly dies as time flies by. Of course, you will understand that once it's health hits zero, it will explode (harmless), and the phase lanes will be open. Until then, phase jumping is impossible. The timer will also give a buzzer at half time, and a gong sound right before it finally explodes to allow you to adequately prepare and remember that this is a fight to the death and not a walk on the beach. 10 minutes is all you have, and if you don't spend them wisely, you're opponent sure will and he'll get the plunders of war!
The second is your planetary shield generator. This is built into a heavily armored Vasari hanger module, capable of housing a subsequent amount of strike craft squadrons. As long as this shield generator is functional, your Dead Asteroid will be invincible to all source of damage and all planet modules will be more difficult to destroy. Also, its epicness grants it so much importance that upon destruction, it will raise you're ships morale to such a high that all capital ships in the gravity well will gain a TREMENDOUS experience boost. This should be your primary target.
Another important feature to THE DOME, is the new upgraded Siege frigates. They are now equipped with a Resource Drain feature which allows them to effectively salvage some resources out of ANY ENEMY vessel destroyed in their radius.
Lastly, advanced information on the Team maps. ALL team maps for the DOME can be played any one of three ways:
-Top versus bottom (TvB). This is the most basic way to play the maps. One half of the map versus the other, quick, fast and DIRTY. Then, in the lobby, simply place the first half of the fighters in one team, and second half in the other.
-Series of 1v1. It is possible to have half of the fighters as one team, and the other half as the others, yet have the game split into a series of 1v1’s. To do this, simply alternate the teams. First fighter is team one, second fighter is team two, etc….
These are the most basic informations regarding the DOME and it's overall layout!
