i do believe randomness should stay, but the problems being mentioned here can give one player an advantage to great
ive had numerous starts where my homewolrd had 1 connecting planet, wich was "anything but asteroid" even neutral extractors "mostly having 0" in most occasions the asteroid is 2/3 jumps away, in some rare occasions it's 4 the only thing that can make this any worse, is high militia in nearby planets
now comparing to my oponent, who hasa string of 3 roid's 2x3 extr 1x2 extr, already the advantage he has over me can be considerd unfair its comparible in giving one player 1000 startup recources, and the other 250
it would still be playable, the only problem would be if nearby planets have maxed out milita and minimal extractors "somehow this always seems to happen when u rly cant use it" im not sure how the maths work, but it would be cool to have militia depending on the amount of extractors not just random becuase to many things are already done on random, and this can leave you with a seriously imbalanced game,
"be honest when taking random you want a random map with +- equil chances"
One reason football is the most popular game in the world is that regardless of ability, smaller teams always have a chance against bigger ones. The element of chance and luck makes it all the more exciting (if you catch my drift)
hm, im not a football fan rly "hate it" but i thought 11 players are on-field per team? since when is football decided by luck or chance? you hit the goal, you miss it or the ball's stopped that's the skill of players.. you cant really say "ah hell when does luck finaly decide to give me a goal"
but.. i figure you meant something else or im plainly mistaken, as i said im not into football "hate it"
