I'm sorry i can't find the link but this post really was suprising to me. It was a debate about why someone thought RTS's were like tetris. Reciting as best as i could remember.
"I found playing RTS games a bit like tetris. Starts out strategy building up with lots of thought involved. Near the end it just seems like your making dicisions based on speed more than actually playing the game. Turn based strategies (TBS's) don't seem like that. They allow for more strategy and in-depth play."
Being me i was shocked but he did open up a good idea. They sort of are. But i also find TBS games mostly like some grid based game in which theres no way to defend. The only strategy in TBS is to attack and strategy is normally no more indepth than getting as many good units as possible. It comes down to more which unit is better than variance.
If anyone can pm me the link i'll edit this post. Same if i find it but i'd like to see what others think.
