Creating this thread for people who want to use Galaxy Forge 1.1 to make maps for SINS 1.05 that have easy wormhole connectivity.
What you need:
1. Galaxy Forge 1.05
2. Notepad
3. Galaxy Forge 1.1 -keep your Galaxy Forge directories separate!
4. Creative Spark
Getting Started
1. Create your map as you normally do in Galaxy Forge 1.05 as if you are going to play the hell out of the map with everything you'll want on each planet and save it in your GalaxyForge 1.05 folder.
2. Save map as "MAPNAME".
3. Open your new map in notepad and change the versionNumber 1 to 2, now it'll load in GalaxyForge 1.1
4. Start Galaxy Forge 1.1 and open the map you made in 1.05
5. Make the wormhole interstar connections just like you make interplanetary connections
6. Save map to "MAPNAME_2"
Now comes the fun part to make your map work again for SINS 1.05
1. Open "MAPNAME_2" map in notepad, this is the map you saved using GF1.1.
2. Change versionNumber from 2 to 1, now it'll run in SINS 1.05
3. Remove: randomizeStartingPositions TRUE.
4. Save your map into the SINS/GALAXY folder and play with SINS 1.05
If anything GalaxyForge 1.1 is a great "InterStarConnection" creator. I made a 15 star map with no planets connected to the sun in GForge 1.05, just tons of wormholes unconnected, then did the above to add the wormhole connections and used the "Short Method" to make it playable in SINS 1.05.
***If you re-open the map in GalaxyForge 1.05 and save it using GF1.05, you will lose all your interStarConnections. Make sure the map is in it's FINAL form in GalaxyForge 1.05, then use GF1.1 to make the interStarConnections!
Enjoy.
PS. Blair Fraser, please just mod GForge 1.05 to have the GF 1.1 features namely wormhole interstarconnection and flipping -minus whatever features don't translate from GF1.1 to GF1.05. Thanks.
