Just open up the 1.05 map files in Notepad and change versionNumber to 2 on top.

Anyone else having problems getting Particle Forge to work. I hac no problems witht the 1.05v, but with 1.1v no luck. I am running Vista and extraced the files the same as the previous version, placed them in the same folder and nothing. Everytime I try to open it I get a window with "Particle Forge Exe has stopped working", windows checks for a soulution and gives me nada.

HELP!!!!!

There are some things in the game I feel need attention and I can't do anything.

And before someone asks, I didn't have to download that pesky d3dx_32dll file for the 1.05v.

I've downloaded n used the galaxy forge v1.1 n saved my designed maps into d galaxy folder of my

 c:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Galaxy as said in d guide but when I opened d game

i cannot load d map!! .....

i also realized d saved map files can only be view using galaxy forge saving but cannot be viewed when i just open d Galaxy folder from my computer. I other words only d original maps of d game made by iron clad can be viewed in folders...

Is this normal  n can some1 pleaz tell me how i can actually get these maps to load on game

Open the map in Notepad and change versionNumber to 2. That will make your maps show up ingame again

Thanks for d advise though my real probelm is i can save d map but i cannot c or open d file with other programs apart from galaxy forge  

so i cant open the map in notepad(==

Sure you can, just right click the map file, select Open With and then find Notepad in the list

try putting your map in the SINS/Galaxy folder.

I need some info on the mod tools.

1. Where do I find XSI?

2. How do make Particle Forge work?

 I love the Xin. Can't wait for the mod.

the mod tool site has been under maintenance - supposed to be open "early December"

Galaxy Forge works and but Particle Forge dosn't work in vista after i updated soase v1.12

I still haven't been able to get particle forge to work on vista either. Load it the exact same way as 1.05 and still nothing. I have net2.0 and that pesky d something 32 whatever file and still nothing.

 

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have net3.5 and partical forge still work. but galaxy forge works just fine.

Is anyone able to run Particle Forge on Vista. I have installed it in the same mannar as with the 1.05 tools but cannot get it to work. I have even add in the d3dx9_32.dll file to the sins directory and to the Particle Forge folder but still am unable to get it to work. I even tried unistalling Sins and the Forge Tools and reinstalling them both but to no avail.

Any Ideas?

I tried it on my other my other computer which is running XP and no luck there either. Is it a problem on my end or a problem with Particle Forge itself.

Blair, any luck getting GalaxyForge 1.1 to show templates in the GSDef file yet?

I have vista too and particle forge won't work!  *donns sandwich board saying "Will pay 10 karma for solution to broken particle forge*

I just tried these tools for 1.13 beta 2 entrenchement and they don't work. I made a short mod and it just crashes sins...

I believe some of the files in there has to be update, will this be done soon? Most important files need to be update will be the developer program...right now it isn't working with new version

Forge tools most certainly do work with Vista.  I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit and use Forge Tools 1.1 constantly.
