In my experience and testing....
the generic game crash (referred to as a "mini-dump") most often happens for one of the following reasons:
1. System drivers, OS, etc. are out-dated/corrupted.
2. Due to late-game stresses on CPU/RAM etc. if the systems involved are "too different" from each other (hardware) this tends to increase the chances of a desync thus increasing the chances of a "mini-dump" (lan or online doesn't seem to matter)
3. Using MODS can sometimes cause this type of behaviour. Some MODS introduce things to your game that might cause additional stresses to the game resulting in a game crash.
Please keep in mind that any troubleshooting you're doing here should be done with an UN-MODDED SINS installation. MOD troubleshooting is the responsibility of the mod creator.
