I have to say, as a modder, that I will not stop until my dream is realized. I put out releases every couple of months to keep people wanting for more, and I find that is the key to keeping people playing the game and playing the mod. Fans are always telling me that if it was not for my mod, they would have shelved the game months ago. That gives me great joy to hear that, and that is what keeps me pressing on to get the next release done. I definatley see your point, especially with mods that are not out yet and seem like they will take forever to make. But, realize that everyone mods for their own reasons, and to some modders perfection is everything, especially if you are recreating another universe like Star Wars or Star Trek or if you are reinventing an old game Like Master of Orion or Star Control. Everyone has their reasons for modding. The good thing is that Sins can be modded, and given the right tools, fairly easily.
So, sticking up fro my fellow modders, we do what we do because we like doing. Whether someone plays the mod or not sometimes is meaningless, as long as it gets done. For, me, having people actually play it and tell me how much they like it keeps me going, and I will keep doing it until I hear that not one single person plays Sins anymore, and then I will mod only for me.
I hope this helps you understand.
