"After a thousand years of peace the Trade
Federation faces two threats simultaneously to its existence. Can the
Federation switch to a war footing quickly enough to preserve the human
race? Or will the Rule of Man come to an abrupt end on your watch ..."
This is a pseudo campaign map based around the back-story of Sin using only the map editor as opposed to a full mod.
The
TEC controls a large and developed central federation of some 20
systems and planets. The Visari player starts with a fleet and ready
access to the outskirts of the federation. While the advent player has
just established a base and will need some time to build a fleet before
launching an attack on those who banished them. Both the Visari and
Advent begin with a large warchest to prosecute their war however the
TEC gas a large income and can trade space for time.
This is a large 3 player map. If you play with the AI it is recommended you play the AI as aggressive/hard.
The
player start positions have also been locked in. That is the TEC player
always starts and controls the central federated planets, the Advent
player starts at their forward base and the Visari have just arrived
with one of their large migration fleets with a Star-Fortress at its
core.
The map is also somewhat random.
Known Issue:
•
Locking the player races into set locations raised an unforseen though
harmless bug. Race selection at the start of the game is meaningless.
The game will still randomly select your starting race and location
(TEC, Advent or Visari). However whatever race you select at the start
screen will affect the portrait used for your race – so you may have an
advent portrait for the TEC. Depending how much this annoys you it only
takes a few restarts to align the portrait with the race. Or you can
ignore it and play on as all other voice overs, models etc are correct.
• Even though it is a large map it appears under the small map selection. I do not know why this happens.
