adding new voices

I was trying to add new voices. But when I ran the develepor program, it said that thier is no sound data for the new sounds. I just ingored it and continued, and lo and behold, the ship I changed the voices wrong had no voice!!

 

Did I just spell it wrong in the Entity file?

what is SoundData?

There should be three .sounddata files in GameInfo. Open them up and add your new sounds in the proper place. Just use the same format already in the files.

I've heard there is a hardcoded limit to the number of sound files you can have, but I don't know what it is.

Its 1100 apparently. As in all 3 sound files added together. If over 1100 = crash.

I belive there is 49 spare entrys from stock files (meaning there is 1051 in the game already, or was that 1059 and 41 spare? - something like that).

okay, should be enough.

edit: did some rough calculations, I need like, 110 voices...might have to cut down a little.
