Mod Request: New Vasari Voices

I like the voicework in Sins but after playing the Vasari for a few hours I got a little weary of Starscream and Gargamel hissing Phaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase at me.  I could just turn speech all the way down I guess, but they do occasionally give useful info.  Is anyone looking into a mod to change the Vasari voices?  Is that even possible?

Technically it would be possible to change their voices in one of four ways.

#1 record completely new voices for them, and encode them into the proper sound format and replace the files.

#2 Open up the Vasari voice in a sound editor and alter them to sound different.

#3 make a copy of the TEC or Advent voices and rename the files to the corresponding ones for the Vasari. The Vasari would then sound like whichever race you copied the sounds from, but it's the easest and simpliest way to go about it.

#4 Use voice files from another games race (such as Swords of the Stars Tarrkas race) and alter the file names and format as needed.)


I'm currently working on balancing my own mod but afterwards I might play around with changing their voices to the Tarkas from Swords of the Stars. (Their hissing does get a little annoying after a while.)

Cool, I'll keep an eye out.

You might consider using Protoss voices from Starcraft... not that the Vasari and the Protoss are at all similar, of course.

Yeah, I must say the Vasari's voices really wear thin fairly quickly. 'What would you have me do?' in that gravely hoarse voice... -shudder.-

This is obviously a race who never developed Cough Drop technology.

I think they sound pretty cool and are supposed to sound sinister.But than again, english is not mine native language.

I dont mind vasari that much, infact i prefer their voices over the high pitched and sometimes whiney advent voices.

Vasari sound a lot more reptilian than the Protoss. I never really did understand why everyone though the Vasari were protoss clones even if there is some inspiration there.

The Vasari are nothing like the protoss. No offense, but the Protoss are far cooler then the Vasari.

My wife says that the scouts sound like Harvey Wienstein and the support ships are voiced by Emperor Palpatine. All of the Vasari voices get old after an hour or two in a game...

This mod was never made, was it?  Very tired of the Vasari who sound like a group of angry 100 year old men.

TEC voices are ok, but Hoshiko sound a lot like a eunich.  Need repair?

Hey, its a geek robot ship with a bunch of techie nerds for a crew. Don't expect a manly "I-have-a-big-battleship-and-I-know-it" kind of voice.

For one, I can't stand Advent voices. Half of them sound to me like Winona Ryder for some reason and that just kills my drive to conquer anything with 'em!
