If host drops everyone gets booted?

so i like to host alot of the time when i play. Haven't had any trouble doing so, but i'm being told now that if the host leaves everyone gets booted? I want to know if that's for real or not. If it is, i think it's completely rediculous and makes no sense. I can't even think of the last rts game where that was the case. I understand ai not taking over and what not. But if i host a 6 player ffa and end up getting killed at some point, i'm not looking to hang around till everyone is done playing. So is that the case or not with host leaving, then everyone gets booted?

When the host leaves, the game looks for a new 'host'. If none can host (soemthing blocking connections) than the game will punch all the players in the face, and start kicking them while they're on the ground.

If the host leaves the game tries to find another host of the remaining players. If it succeeds, the game can continue. But it doesn't always succeed

oh well that makes sense, that's how most rts games do it.

yes but it seems like most people who have bought sins cant host.. so if u close it chances are everyone will get booted.

well, i guess people will have to be nice to the host in a ffa and not double team rush from both sides and send the pirates in like the last 6 ffa i did. lol

i can host games fine and i often do but when im not hosting the migrating crap never works

More people must fix their hosting issues and not rely on others. 'tis the only way.

It's possible that migration does not work correctly because of the over-zealous (or bugged) verification system ICO has in place. It's well known that people can host even though they get the "people may not be able to join" -error message - it would sound logical to me that ICO doesn't count these as potential migrated hosts. (This is still only speculation, of course.)

Don't believe that is the case. I get the (bogus) warnings myself, and yet have had the game successfully migrate to my machine when the host left.
