In the manual, every ship has its weapons listed, such as "4 x Plasma Cannons" or "3 x Pulse Laser Batteries (Starboard / Port)".

My question is, does that number matter in relation to the "Average Damage" stat displayed in infocards? If a Destra Crusader does 19 Plasma damage average, does it do that 19 x 4 cannons, or is the 19 the result of all 4 cannons firing together?

If the average damage does take into account the number of guns already, would that also mean, on a ship like the Vasari planet bomber, which has 2 wave cannons, 1 each Starboard/Port, that it does 3 damage per cannon, since it cannot possible fire on a single target with both at the same time?
