why not just edit the map u wanna play if u wanna cheat

just set planet to max and resources to 9999999
and save and play

just make a copy of the map and name the new something else if you dont rem the value if u want to play as a non cheater in a future

Just modify the map. The game is VERY easy to edit, so really a trainer is unnecessary.

My advice is download the temp mod tools and read the PDF readme included. SD was nice enough to actually give us three examples of mods to make, and if you even just read how to work it, your understanding of the game coding makes leaps and bounds.

You could try this one. I have not idea if it works ... haven't even looked at it.

I'm a CheatHappens member (lifetime membership was something like $15) and that membership is until either I or the website die. And you can also download any trainer they release about 2 months before the general public can. We also get special "members only" trainers like for Warhammer 40k: Dark Crusade.

This sounds like a CheatHappens ad, but it's true. They tend to release game trainer updated the day of a patch release. And most of the people who post there tend to put down people who pirate games.

Why would you need a Trainer at all? Just mod it in or ask for a mod doing what you want. I'm sure there is any number of people here who would do it or at least help you to learn how to make one yourself.

Let's see what I can come up with using the options you asked for:

F1= Infinite Metal
F2= Infinite Crystal

- any number of ways to do these two. Modify the orbital structures to release more a second, create a map that starts you with an insane amount of all three, etc...

F3= No Pop Cap
F5= No planet upgrade limit (Super Planets!)

- not possible. You can change each planet type's upgrade paths to start with really high stats, but again, there is no constant for infinity built into this game (dev wanna clarify?).

F4= Instant Research
F6=Instant Planet Upgrades

- changing the research time in it's research entity file or planet's upgrade path to 0 will give you this


F7= Remove FoW (Fog of war, or shroud)
F8= Instant Jumping(Dont have to wait for the ships to charge their jumpdrives)

- I'm not sure how to do these two with modding. I'm sure that you can mod the jump time, just not sure how. FOW - short of messing with the scouts probe ability, I'm not sure.

Well, not sure if this applies to everyone, but I think the term is "Power Trip." And yes, this includes myself. The mod that I've been building to learn how everything works has been a Super Powered TEC Faction outside of the base one. I understand the appeal of trainers, I just don't see the need for one in this game.

If I had max resources, instant upgrades, and "an insane cap on my planet structures" I'd have Novaliths raining down death within 10 minutes. There's no way I could possibly go 10 hours with that. That's an extraordinarily long power trip.

Since trainers use memory locations to switch values they work for all maps/galaxies, saving you from having to create your own galaxy and then edit countless files to "mod" these changes like everyone keeps saying.

This game has like 40 different maps to try; I can understand people wanting to play them all without the repetative 12 hour preamble to get your research/upgrades complete everytime.

I don't know about Sins, but many game's AI cheat to match/exceed player progress anyway, so trainers provide a faster way to get to full capability without making the game brain-dullingly easy to defeat afterword.

I agree, I have used trainers, fun way of using trainers is to do a huge or large map and just put all ai in hard mode as aggressor, makes for some big asss battles which is fun.

Another use for trainers is when you want to play test a mod or map really quickly and don't want to have to mess about altering the resources of the map just to play test a few things. (not play test for balance so much as functionality and ctd bugs)

They're also handy if you want to familarize yourself with a few of the non random maps before playing online but don't want to spend a few days actually playing through the maps regularly in SP.

I hardly think wanting some extra resources in a game is equivalent to being malicious. I got a Crysis trainer a few days ago just so I could input the damn invincibility/no decrease in energy when using suit stuff codes because the developers locked it out from normal usage unless you use devmode.

You aren't winning though... You're creating a situation with a trainer that gives you the illusion you've won, but you haven't won anything. It's like saying the chimp pushed the button and "won" a banana. You can never win anything with a chea...trainer.
