Who and why

i am new to the palce....recently i have developed an interset in the game... as far as i know there are 3 race to play with..each with there own unique abilities and story... i want to know one thing..

if you are playing a sandbox or multiplayer game which side you will choose and why? all three have there own playing style so which one you prefer..

also i am a defensive type of player who builds up forces and unleash on the enemy in the later part so which side should i play with???

Short answer: Dont know...

In Beta 4 we only saw two races TEC and Vasari but not even all units of em.
And the devs have made some adjustemnts to strenght, weakness ... and and and
Even as some says he plays that race or an other, he could change his mind.

Maybee many will play the Advent at the beginning because we couldnt choose em in the Beta... but well see

Having not played yet I will probably start with the basics and go TEC for a little while. An easier economy and simpler to understand ship roles might make them a good beginning choice.

Hopefully I can get the hang of the Vasari eventually though, I love the look of their ships. And with their gate tech it sounds like they have the fleet movement advantage.

Unsure about the Advent. Their design is interesting but I'm still unclear about where their strengths lie right now.

Love the look of the advent, smooth sleek. It has been hinted that they prefer technology over brute force, which fits with my ethics quite well, that said it will likely be TEC to start off with, then Advent to mix it up.


I'm not really feeling it for the vasari ship design though , so they are likely my least favourite. Although when playing a match how much time will you actually spend zoomed in? I guess its a wait and see job really.

is there no info about the playing styles??? if i am not wrong in one of the previews on gamespot it was said that the vasari are best suited for hit and run tactics...

With TEC I am more inclined to getting a trade empire going early in the game.  With Advent I usually rush for the carriers and create a mixed strikecraft fleet.  Advent culture can be brutal in the mid-late game.

I like the TEC's Tech Tree alot more then the Vasari's. However The V's have cooler lookin ships and I feel their capitols are stronger (just my opinion I may be wrong) The TEC's ships cost less but dont seem to be as strong, The flak fridgate in particular, the vasari's answer - the ravinasta skirmisher is a superior ship IMO And that particular catogory of ships (anti fridgate) is pretty important.

Who has the range advantae in LRM call fridgates? Seems like the javilis but does anyone know for sure?

Whats a "Strikeclass" fleet? Planet seiging? or more anti-ship Skirmisher type fridgates? Will advent follow the fridgate structure of vasari and tec?

By fridgate structure I mean

Scout, Generic, LRM, Seige, Skirmisher, Colony (and mabey 3 more classes that we haven't seen yet?)

Also, and this Q is for anyon who cares to answer, Why are there Generic Class fridgates like the Cobalt when very early on you can unlock Skirmish class fridgates that completly obsolete the former? I mean, I guess I understand you need a weaker ship to start things off but really, don't you feel after 10 min the cobalt's are completly usles, Even fuly upgraded wepons produce 11 dmg I believe where as lv1 1 Flak is 21DMG. What is the real use of the generic fridgate is the true question I suppose.

SINS does not suffer from unit obsolence, by design. Each ship has unique functions and abilities that ensure they are all valuable right to the end. Players with diverse fleet compositions tend to be more successful.

I've never heard of a strike class fleet. Strike craft would refer to a carrier focused fleet, using fighters / bombers.

Aha, so this is one of the Advent's strong points. We know TEC often has the economic advantage, and the Vasari get unrivalled movement advantages lategame, sounds like the Advent get the culture spread advantage. It makes sense I suppose, crazy hypnotizing psychically enhanced propaganda > regular propaganda.

But as interesting as the culture aspects of the game looks now it still seems less vital than the economy or fleet movement choices. Makes me wonder what kinds bonuses the Advent will have to make culture spread a competitive trait.

A real quick benefit is a big huge advantage with priates.
Additionally money is the core of the game dont lose sight of this important fact. Planet & fleet killers are great but only if you can get them; otherwise it is all meaningless.

i accept that money is a cruicial factor...but wats the point if you can build huge number of ships that can cut down by expensive ones? i mean with TEC you can have a good number of ships in your fleet...but if i am now wrong vasairs have the expensive units but they are extremely powerful

low cost, more ships= less ships,more expensive but powerful

whoe will win?? number of ships or power??

I think you're overestimating the Vasari's "power" a bit much. Their ships have a bit more hp/armor, but they're not the "omg we kill anything" units. In fact, most of what makes the Vasari powerful are their capital ship and some support cruiser abilities

The TEC is very good defensively, and they have other advantages over the Vasari - range being one of them

Continuous waves of fodder ships will wear down even the most advanced ships. Ron did it to me once. It is called the "hive effect" or "death by paper cut" as the old expression goes. Sadly I could not make caps fast enough and he overwhelmed me with his gnat fleet.

I see myself playing single player random race games.

I just don't have the time to invest in getting competitive on the multiplayer scene.

Um, I don't think that was me doing it Spartan... if only because we've almost inevitably played cooperatively Well, that and I tend to do the opposite when and if I can -- I'm an econ player, I like big ships and lots of 'em!

Hmmm... I thought it was you could have beta or hobo however. But I could swear it was our first game with me as the Vasari.
